Flash Light sweep effect
Hello, i would like to share another simple trick which may help you to make beautiful flash banners. Hope you know well about the light sweep effect. Its very cool, eye catching and not of course disturbing. Ok lets move to the tutorial. I assume you know something about flash like frames,symbols,tweening,masking etc, trust me it is not an experts only thing its easy and handy.
Create a New Flash document >> set its properties as you wish (Right Click>> Document Properties). Oke now type your name or what you wish to do here i type Pixel Glimpse. Covert the text to symbol by pressing F8 key.
Ok you are done. Now move to the next part duplicate last created symbol to animate it. You can do it from Symbols library (F11) 
Name it pixel animation double click on the symbol to enter the symbol time line.
Make 60 frames. (Just click on the frame and press F5)
Yea as the picture says 60frames on 12Fps will give 4.9 sec of animation. Note we did this on the layer called text. Now add a new layer on top of the ‘text’ layer called light.
See the box in round marked as glow. Then just remove its border. This gradient will not give an actual light effect because its gradating from white to black. We need the gradient as ‘Transparency to white to transparency’. We shall do this by our color mixer panel
You can do that in easy steps . Choose gradient type as linear make three same colors as in picture. Adjust left edge color alpha to 0% (see the rounded area) and same as to right edge. So just the center is opaque and both sides are transparent. Then fill the gradation to our box which drawn on light layer
You see that now no border and correct gradient. I also a slanted the shape for perfect output. One thing to remember here is ‘Fill the gradient before transforming the shape so as filling will be perfect’. The next step is animating the light, for that first convert the shape to symbol ( Oh’ yeah the same method i mentioned above). Make a keyframe (press F6 for keyframe) on frame number 55 and ‘sweep’ the shape from left edge to right edge over the text. So on frame one the shape will be on left edge and on frame 55 shape will be on right edge. Ensure the shape is not above the text on frame 1 and 55. Tween the movement by clicking anywhere on blank frames on light layer as in the pic
Oh yeah we are reaching, be cool. Create one more layer called orginal text and copy the text (Pixel Glimpse) and paste it on that layer exactly above the original text See the pic
So the top of the stack is orginal text then the light animation layer and again the same text. Now the important part, ‘Mask’ the original text layer, by right clicking on the layer. (Right click >> Mask)
Yes dudes we are almost done. Come back to parent time-line by clicking on scene one or back button. And make 60 bank frames choose pixel animation from library and drag and drop it to the first frame
Now we are done, Press (Cntrl + Enter) to preview the movie. Hope you know methods to export the movie to swf and all.
